Driver job link
A tow driver app alternative: the job arrives as a link

The short answer
A driver job link replaces a driver app with a text. When you assign a job, the driver gets a link to a page with the customer, the vehicle, the pickup, one-tap navigation, status buttons and photos. It works on any phone, and there is nothing to install or log in to.
What is a driver job link, and how does it replace an app?
A driver job link is a web page for one job, sent to the driver by text. Because it opens in the phone browser, you skip the app store, the password resets and the driver who is stuck on an old version.
You get the same handoff an app would give. Assigning the job on the dispatch board texts the driver their link, and the board shows when they tap "Got it" and when their phone last checked in.
What does the owner set up and control?
The driver gets one page per job with the customer, the vehicle, the pickup, navigation, status buttons and photos. The driver job link guide walks through that page from the driver side, so this page stays on what you control as the owner.
You keep the roster, decide which truck gets which link, and see on the board whether each driver has tapped "Got it" and when their phone last checked in. Nothing about it needs an IT person, because there is no software to push to a phone.
- A roster of drivers and trucks, with a phone number for each so the text can reach them
- Assignment that texts the link, or a link you copy and send yourself
- Got it and the last check-in, on the dispatch board
- Replace or switch off any link, for one job or for a whole truck
- Position sharing on or off for the whole company
What happens when the signal is bad?
Status taps and notes are saved on the phone and sent when the signal comes back, in the order they were pressed. A banner tells the driver how many updates are waiting, so nobody has to wonder whether the tap counted.
Photos need a connection to upload, and a link that has never been opened has to load once before it can work offline. The page can be added to the home screen so it opens like an app, without being one.
How is the link kept safe?
The link is the only key to that job. It stays open for about a week, it stops working when the job is reassigned or closed, and dispatch can replace or revoke it at any moment if a phone changes hands.
The page never shows your internal notes, other drivers' jobs or your company's money beyond the quote for that job. It is not indexed by search engines, and the analytics that run on your website are switched off on it so the link does not leak into reports.
What do you give up compared with a native app?
You give up background tracking. The page shares the truck position only while it is open on an active job, and only if your company has sharing on, so it is not a tracker on the driver's whole day. There is no app store presence and no login to manage.
In return you get no installs, no update lag and an unlimited number of drivers. Each truck also has one standing link that lists every open job on it, which drivers can save to the home screen as their day.
Frequently asked questions
Do drivers need to create an account?
No. The text with the link is all they need. Drivers are added to your roster with a name, and a phone number is what lets the text reach them. They never get a username or password.
What if a driver changes phones or loses the text?
Dispatch can copy the link from the job and send it again, or create a new one, which stops the old link working. If a phone changes hands, the truck standing link can be switched off in a second too.
Does it track my driver all day?
No. Position sharing only runs while the job page is open on an active job, and only when your company has it switched on. It stops when the job ends.
Can I still use a driver app if I want one?
The job link is how drivers work in TowSitePros. If another system runs your dispatch, you can keep it and push jobs across through the API, but there is no separate native driver app to install.
