Review software for towing companies: what exists and what does not

Last updated

The short answer

For a tow company, TowSitePros gives you a private star rating on the customer tracking page, review requests you send by email, and a reviews page on your website where you approve what is shown. When you have added a review link, every customer who rates is offered it, whatever score they gave. It does not import Google reviews.

What review tools does a tow company get?

There are four pieces, and they work together without pretending to be more than they are. A rating on the tracking page collects a quick star score after each finished job, review requests ask a customer for a longer review, a reviews page on your site shows the ones you approve, and a reviews screen lets you manage them.

You can also enter a review a customer gave you directly, such as a note they left in person. It is shown on your reviews page as what it is.

How does the rating on the tracking page work?

Once a job is complete, the customer tracking page asks how you did. They tap one to five stars and can add a comment, once per job, and it goes straight to your office, not to the public.

When you have added a review link, usually your Google review link, every customer who rates is then offered it, whatever score they gave. The private rating still reaches your office first, so you can call back someone who was unhappy, and the public review stays the customer's choice to write.

How do reviews get onto your website?

A visitor can leave a review on your reviews page, or arrive there from a request you sent, and it lands as pending until you approve it. You can publish it, hide it or delete it, mark one as featured so it shows first on your home page, and post a public reply that appears under it.

  • New reviews arrive as pending, and you decide what is published
  • Feature the ones you want visitors to see first
  • Reply publicly under a review
  • Everything you publish is visible to visitors, whatever its source

How do the reviews on your website relate to Google reviews?

The reviews you publish appear on your reviews page and, for the ones you feature, on your home page, where they help the people who visit your site decide to call. They are for those visitors. Your site does not try to turn them into stars in search results.

The stars people see next to a company in Google come from that company's Google review profile. That is why, when you have added a review link, every customer who rates a job is offered it, whatever score they gave: the review that helps you in Google is the one a customer chooses to write there.

How do you ask customers for reviews?

From a finished job you can send a review request to that customer with one click, and from the reviews screen you can ask someone who never came through your website, like a walk-in, by name and email. Requests go by email as a single-use link.

You can also switch on one automatic request when a job is completed. There is no bulk blast, you can cancel an ask you sent, and your reports show how many requests were sent, opened and answered.

What is not built?

There is no Google review import, no Google Business Profile sync and no posting to other review sites from TowSitePros. A review on a site outside your own stays there, and your own reviews page only shows what was submitted to it or entered by you.

Ratings from the tracking page are private, and they do not turn into public reviews on their own. They do trigger an alert to your office, and a webhook can carry a rating to your own system.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import my Google reviews?

No. There is no Google review import and no Google Business Profile sync, and reviews from other sites are not copied onto your website. Send review requests after your jobs and the reviews that come back are collected on your own site.

Do tracking page ratings show on my website?

No. They are private to your office, one per job. The public reviews on your site come from your reviews page form or from a request you sent, plus any you entered yourself, and you approve each one.

Will the reviews on my website show stars in Google search?

No. They appear on your own reviews page for visitors, and your site does not add star ratings to search results. The stars next to a company in Google come from its Google review profile, so when you have added a review link, every customer who rates a job is offered it.

Can I reply to a review?

Yes. On the reviews screen you can write a public reply that appears under the review on your site, and you can feature a review so it shows first on your home page.

Can it ask every customer automatically?

There is an optional automatic request when a job is completed, which you switch on per site. Otherwise requests are sent one at a time by you, and there is no bulk sending.
